Seeing Double: Running Out Of Comic Book Movie Actors

An image of a superhero wearing three costumes stitched together looking over Hollywood

I’ve been getting a touch of déjà vu whilst watching these big-budget superhero films:

Bane is Venom (Tom Hardy)

Thanos is Cable (Josh Brolin)

Green Lantern is Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)

Sinestro is Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong)

Captain America is Human Torch (Chris Evans)

Human Torch is Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan)

Morbius is Joker (Jared Leto)

Daredevil is Batman (Ben Affleck)

Batman is Vulture (Michael Keaton)

Vulko is Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe)

Ghost Rider is Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage)

Dr. Chase Meridian is Queen Of Atlantis (Nicole Kidman)

Storm is Catwoman (Halle Berry)

Catwoman is Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)

Bolivar Trask is Eitri (Peter Dinklage)

John Jonah Jameson Jr. is Commissioner Gordan (JK Simmons)

Aleta Ogord is Shang-Chi’s auntie Ying Nan (Michelle Yeoh)

Minn-Erva from Captain Marvel will soon be Sersi in The Eternals (Gemma Chan)

And Batman might soon be Minotaur in Thor: Love And Thunder (Christian Bale)

There must be a shortage of actors in Hollywood! Either that or there mustn’t be many actors who aren’t allergic to rubber… or reboots.
